"Five Elements of Berlin Biophony / Berliner Biophonie der fünf Elemente" - Klanginstallation, Ausstellung, Lectures und Konzert

Im Zentrum des paradoxen Idylls auf der Mittelinsel des Ernst-Reuter-Platzes, einem zentralen Charlottenburger Verkehrsknotenpunkt und mehrspurigen Kreisverkehr, steht der Glaspavillon BHROX bauhaus reuse. "Five Elements of Berlin Biophony /  Berliner Biophonie der fünf Elemente" setzt sich mit der organischen Biosphäre des Ortes auseinander: Die fünf Elemente Wasser, Erde, Luft, Glas (sinnbildlich für Architektur und Bauen) und Metall (sinnbildlich für Verkehr) werden mit klanglichen Mitteln und Messinstrumenten untersucht, und das BHROX bauhaus reuse verwandelt sich in seinem architektonischen Setting selbst zum klingenden Messinstrument der sonischen Landschaft. Lectures von zivilgesellschaftlichen Akteur*innen, Wissenschaftler*innen und Künstler*innen gehen über in künstlerische Führungen zu akustischen Forschungsstationen. In das Konzert am Samstagabend fließen alle Beobachtungen und gesammelten Klang-Forschungsobjekte ein, und vielfältige Interventionen bringen die Tiefe des Ernst-Reuter-Platzes und der umgebenden Kreisläufe und Bauten zum Klingen - und die Rauschwand der Springbrunnen verwandelt sich in nächtliche Stille.

The center of the paradox idyll on the middle island at Ernst-Reuter-Platz, (a central Charlottenburger multi-lane roundabout) hosts the glass pavilion BHROX bauhaus reuse. "Five Elements of Berlin Biophony /  Berliner Biophonie der fünf Elemente" takes the organic biosphere of the site seriously: the five elements water, earth, air, glass (emblematic of architecture and building) and metal (emblematic of traffic) are investigated with sonic means and measuring instruments, and the BHROX bauhaus reuse transforms itself into a sounding measuring instrument of the sonic landscape in its architectural setting. Lectures by civil society actors, scientists and artists lead into artistic tours of acoustic research stations. A concert on Saturday evening will integrate all the observations and collected sound research objects, and diverse interventions will make the bio-, anthropo- and technophonic depth of Ernst-Reuter-Platz and the surrounding circular flows and buildings resound - and the wall of noise of the fountains will be transformed into nocturnal silences.
